Copy an Snapshot between Amazon AWS Regions.

1) Open the Amazon EC2 Console.

To copy the snapshot between Amazon AWS Regions. Firstly you have to login on Amazon Console https://aws.amazon.com/ and check the region where you can copy the snapshot to another regions. In our case we are copy the snapshot from Mumbai to Singapore region.

2)  Copy a snapshot from Mumbai to Singapore region.

Go to Services –> EC2 then select Snapshots, In the navigation pane. Select the snapshot to copy, and then choose Copy from the Actions list.

 

Once you click on “copy” option. The Copy Snapshot dialog box will open, where you fill the necessary details like;
Destination Region: Select the region where you want to write the copy of the snapshot.
Description:  fill the Information about the source snapshot.
Encryption: It will encrypt the source snapshot.Then choose “copy” option.

Once you click on “copy” option, Snapshot copy operation has been initiated. To view the progress of the copy process, switch to the destination region(In our case we selected the Singapore region).

Go to the Snapshots page for the destination region (i.e Singapore region(In our case)), The AWS consule will copy the snapshot in a couple minutes.
